Physical therapy is a medical profession that is utilized when strength building or recovery is needed with a muscle or joint related issue. “PT” usually starts in very assisted small steps and progresses to be more active physical therapy as the patient improves. The goal is to help the patient return to their regular daily activates with little or no assistance.
Physical therapy strengthens muscles and helps limits scar tissue around damaged, weakened, or surgical areas.A physical therapy team works directly with the pateint’s physician to make sure they receive the most optimal regimen for their medical situation. The therapy may include Gate (walk) training, adaptive equipment, and strength building. There are just a few of many approaches that are utilized is a combination therapy to help a patient recover or restore function.
